Cell Phone as Modem

What You Need?

  • Cell phone preferably Nokia s60v1 and up but you can also try s40v2 (but I heard Sony Ericsson phones are okay too.)
  • Nokia PC Suit or Any Connectivity Driver
  • USB Data Cable to Connect the cell phone to the PC (but you can also try Bluetooth Device and Software.)
  • Browser that is easy to set up the Settings like Opera. (You can also use Firefox Mozilla and Google Chrome.)
  • Lastly PC or Laptop will do.

Steps

  • Install the Nokia PC Suit or the Connectivity Device in your PC or Laptop.
  • Connect your Cell phone to the PC using USB Data Cable (If you don’t have a USB Data Cable, try installing Bluetooth in your PC or Laptop.)
  • Check if the Cell phone and PC are connected properly, the Nokia PC Suit or the Connectivity Device will automatically detect it.
  • Open Nokia PC Suit and then click the CONNECT TO THE INTERNET and then the ONE TOUCH ACCESS window will appear, click the SETTINGS > NEXT > marked the CONFIGURE THE CONNECTION MANUALLY > NEXT > ACCESS POINT box, for GLOBE, http.globe.com.ph for SMART, internet and for SUN minternet > then you’re finished! (I’m not that sure if the procedure is the same when you’re using different cell phone brands and other Connectivity Device.)
  • But wait! Wait for the notice in the One Touch Access window if you are connected.
